Orland Cemetery District - Yard Clean-Up Update
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Updated: May 1, 2026
Orland Cemetery District Conducts Grounds Clean-Up and Reminds Public of Decoration Policies
The Orland Cemetery District has recently completed a comprehensive yard clean-up across all District cemeteries as part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, respectful, and well-kept grounds.
As a reminder to all visitors and families, any items placed on or around headstone monument pads must comply with District policy. All memorial items must be placed directly on the monument pad or within an approved flower vase. No items are permitted around the base of the monument pad.
During the clean-up process, staff carefully removed items that were not in compliance with District regulations. These items may have included:
- Glass vases
- Balloons
- Tattered or faded flowers
- Items placed off the monument pad
- Broken or damaged decorations
- Other non-permitted items
Items that were not broken or damaged have been retained and may be retrieved at the District Office during normal business hours.
This clean-up effort is essential to preserving the beauty, safety, and dignity of the cemetery grounds. The District’s goal is to ensure a serene and respectful environment for all families and visitors honoring their loved ones.
The Orland Cemetery District respectfully asks for the public’s cooperation. Please note that any non-compliant items that are replaced after removal will be permanently discarded.
For questions or additional information regarding cemetery policies, please contact the Orland Cemetery District office at (530) 865-3880 or email orlandcemdist@gmail.com.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping maintain a beautiful and welcoming space for all.
Sincerely,
Orland Cemetery District
